Raiders vs UTS
Hey all Tommy here to give you the run of this weekend’s match up against Bondi and UTS.
To start off, Bondi were quite dominant with the ball. We showed the Gators that we meant business. Within the first five minutes we managed to get points on the board with a spectacular passing touchdown from Wide Receiver Dane Robertson. Following the successful drive, our defence turned it up a gear and turned over the ball four times in the first half. We then secured a field goal at the start of the second quarter. However, UTS succeeded in getting 6 on the board with a 65 yard run up the middle. At the end of the 1st half Bondi was leading 10-6.
To prove we weren’t backing down from this game, Wide Receiver Dean Borghuis who was playing Free Safety was able to get a pick and run it in for a huge 50 yard touchdown. With the lead now getting bigger, the Raiders started to ease off a bit. This was a big mistake as UTS managed to score a running touchdown. Following this, Bondi made key mistakes which resulted in UTS racking up another 25 points. But in true Raiders form, we did not quit until the final whistle.
Final Score
UTS 37
Raiders 17
Player of the game goes to Dean Borghuis with 3 huge intercepts. Even though it was his first game as Free Safety, he managed to hold his own.
Now with one game left. Bondi are going to give it their all in defeating Sydney Uni and getting into the finals. We believe. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!

Game 7
Raiders vs Sydney Uni
Hey all Tommy here to give you the weekly report.
This week saw us matched up with league favourites Sydney Uni. The Raiders were definitely going to have a hard game ahead of them.
Bondi started off with the ball and managed to clock up some yardage on the Lions defence. However, they showed us why they are currently first in the state. It seemed however that no matter what we did we could not stop their running game as they managed to clock up 34 points in the 1st half.
The 2nd half didn’t prove to be much of a turning point either. At every turn they had us beat.
Final Score 61
Raiders 0
As much as it pains me to say this, Sydney Uni did play a much better game and I know that the majority of the players feel the same way. but as Darryl said it cannot get any worse and we now know how to counter them. Next time we will be prepared.

Game 6
Bondi Raiders vs Sutherland Seahawks
Hey all Tommy here to give you the run down of this week’s game against the Sutherland Seahawks.
The Hawks made it clear that they had come to play and that this wasn’t going to be an easy game. They came firing out with a running offence clocking up yards and then managed to score first with a 20 yard passing touchdown. Bondi’s offence fought back and got a touchdown from a fumble recovery by Offensive Linemen Adriel Lage. However, on the two point conversion, the Hawks intercepted the ball and ran it in for two points.
It seemed no matter what the Raiders did, they couldn’t stop the Hawk’s running game. The defence wasn’t wrapping up or there were blown coverages. By the end of the 1st half Bondi were trailing 18-12.
The 2nd half started and Bondi had to get back into the game. The offence started their drive with hard hitting Raiders running. Wide Receiver Edouard Ferry brought back a bit hope to the team with a passing touchdown. Following that, we got a massive rushing touchdown by Running Back Jean-Louis Lam putting the Raiders back in front. Sadly though, the Hawks put on another 6 with a passing touchdown and kneeled the ball with minutes to go.
Final Score
Seahawks 30
Raiders 25
Although it was sad to see the Seahawks win, maybe this will be the wake up call the Raiders need to make sure that something like this never happens again.
Game 5
Raiders vs Predators
Hey all Tommy here to give you the game report for the week.
This week we were going up against the Predators and we knew that this wouldn’t be an easy game as the Predators were hungry for a win.
To start off, our offence wasn’t quite clicking which led to wide receivers not catching their passes and also having the balls snapped a bit too high. At one point, it looked like the Predators started to know what we were running. We were the first to score as usual but it was a field goal rather than a touch down.
Following the slow running first offensive drive, the defence stepped up their game and made sure we gave the offence good field position. Wide Receiver Clayton Idato was first to score of an offside penalty against the Predators defence. After that touchdown, the offence started getting their groove back and managed to score another two touchdowns completed by Dane Robertson and Dean Borghuis. However, before the 1st half was over the Predators managed to secure 3 points on the board with a 25 yard field goal.
The Raiders offence took the field for the start of the 2nd half. On the second play, Quarter-Back Peter “LT” Tos managed to bust it big and run it in for a touchdown with a massive 80 yard run. To the surprise of many people, he did not get touched at all. Soon after, the Predators managed to bite back with a running touchdown by their Quarter-Back and also managed to secure themselves a Safety. But it was too little too late again for them as Bondi just kept racking up the points.
Final score
Raiders 38
Predators 12
Overall, Bondi were a bit slow to get into their rhythm but still managed to get the win. Hopefully this will teach the boys not to take games for granted.

Game 3
Raiders vs Seahawks
Hey all Tommy here to give you the weekly game report.
This week would prove to be a good chance to show the Seahawks that Bondi is only geting stronger and have learnt from their mistakes from the previous week.
Bondi as usual were the first to score with a running touchdown to Wide Receiver Matthew Schwartz, although the Seahawks made it clear that this wasnt going to be a wash out for them as they put 6 on the board from a pass. The Raiders however, wanted to show the Seahawks that we were not afraid of them and would stop at nothing to win. During the 2nd Quarter, Matthew Schwartz got his 2nd touchdown for the game with a spectacular catch in the End-Zone. To finish off the 1st half, Wide Receiver Clayton Idato put the Raiders to a 19-6 lead with an awesome reception for a touch down.
Now with the Raiders in front, the Seahawks really had to get their heads in the game. Following an intercept thrown by Raiders QuarterBack LT, the Hawks passed it in to make the score 19-12. Following this touchdown, Bondi made sure that the Seahawks had no more scoring chances. From here on the Raiders just kept on denying the Seahawks any chance with a run stopping defence and an aggressive offence. To add further insult to injury for the Hawks, Bondi racked up another four touchdowns, three of them passing TD’s to Wide Receivers Dean Borghuis and Matthew Schwartz and a running touchdown by QuarterBack LT. The Seahawks managed to get one more touchdown from a blown coverage but sadly it was too little, too late for them.
Final Score 44-18
Nothing but pride and bragging rights on the line for this game. Player of the match goes to Matthew Schwartz for scoring three of the seven touchdowns. This game just shows that even when Bondi has an off week, we can bounce back and take on anyone. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!
The Raiders again showed that they know how to tick the scoreboard over by racking up 44 points via 7 TD’s, but in doing so let the Seahawks in for 18 points.
Bondi Raiders Report
Game 2
Raiders vs Pirates
Hey all Tommy here again to give you the update on how the Raiders went this week.
This week was going to be a tough game as we were going against a team that runs the exact offence we run and also has the Australian Quarter-Back as their starter. But we made sure the Pirates knew they had to fight as we were the first to score with a running touchdown by Wide Receiver Matthew Schwartz. However, the Pirates came flying back with a running touchdown from their Running Back minutes later.
Both the offence and defence were going toe to toe for yardage and field position. Towards the end of the 1st quarter, Wide Receiver Dean Borghuis managed to put us back in front with a passing touchdown. Following that we opted for the two point conversation giving us a 14-7 lead over the Pirates. However, that didn’t stop the Pirates capitalising on a few key mistakes that the Raiders made. This enabled them to run it in for another touchdown now racking it up to 14-14 by the end of the 1st half.
From the start of the 2nd half, the Raiders came out swinging and made sure the Pirates knew we meant business. We managed to keep the score level until the dying minutes of the 4th quarter when the Pirates completed a passing touchdown. The Raiders were determined to try and even the score but sadly ran out of time.
Final Score was 21-14.
Unlucky for the Raiders but this game will definitely be a big stepping stone for the team to learn from their mistakes and will prepare them for future games to come.
Bondi Raiders Report
Round 1
Raiders vs Mustangs
Hey all Tommy here to give you the details on how the Raiders went this weekend.
Having a new side and a new offence, the Raiders showed the Mustangs that we weren’t here to mess around. Within the opening five minutes of the game, The Raiders were first to score with a successful Quarterback sneak by Peter “LT” Tos. However, the Mustangs were quick to respond with a running touchdown by their Quarterback.
Following this the Defence made it their business to make sure that the Mustang’s offence knew who they were dealing with by forcing them to punt every series they were on and they also made a few fumble recoveries along the way. The offence picked up their game and by the end of the first half Raiders were leading 39-6.
After an inspirational half-time speech by head coach Paul Manera, it was straight back to business. Here the Raiders showed no retreat nor no mercy into showing the Mustangs what we are all about. Even the rookies had a good day as three of them manage to get passing touchdowns.
Final score was 52-6 proving that the new Raiders are definitely a team to be reckoned with. Stand out performances go to Wide Receivers Matthew Schwartz, Dean Borghuis, Kenny Macieira and Dane Robertson for their outstanding touchdown receptions, Outside Linebacker Francisco Garrido for his first interception, Defensive Linemen Roy Morgan for his forty-five yard fumble recovery and finally to all the Offensive Linemen for their protection for Peter Tos.
It’s good to see that the Raiders are back in business and lets hope we can keep up the good work throughout the season.
